Punjab’s athletes delivered an outstanding performance at the Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games, finishing in first place with a total of 173 medals as the event concluded on Thursday.
Punjab claimed 78 gold, 53 silver, and 42 bronze medals, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa followed with 98 medals, including 29 gold, 31 silver, and 38 bronze. Sindh secured third place with 79 medals—16 gold, 28 silver, and 35 bronze.
On the final day, Punjab’s Kanzul Eman won gold in women’s badminton, defeating her teammate Hamna Irshad. In men’s badminton, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Mohammad Zahid triumphed over Mohammad Afnan.
In women’s doubles, Punjab’s Hamna and Eman overcame Sindh’s Mariyam Hamza and Mariyam Hanif, while KP’s Afnan and Hasseb won the men’s event by beating Punjab’s Sohaib and Umer.
Sindh’s Ibad Khan and Maryam claimed gold in mixed doubles, defeating Hasnain and Maryam Hamza.
In the Asian freestyle kabaddi final, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa defeated Punjab 40-28 to secure the gold.
