ANP: Gen Faiz must be held accountable for Pashtun bloodshed.

Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, a leader of the Awami National Party and former chief minister, mentioned that folks have really paid a big price to bring back peace in the region.

“Things in Pakistan and Afghanistan are getting worse every day.” He mentioned at an ANP meeting here on Wednesday that we should really encourage the state to steer clear of war and work on resolving issues through diplomacy instead.

They held a meeting to remember the joint death anniversary of Bacha Khan, the founder of the Khudai Khidmatgar movement, and Khan Abdul Wali Khan. Mr. Hoti mentioned that Pashtuns are facing violence in both Pakistan and Afghanistan, and those engaged in terrorism are looking to come back and settle in the area.

“I’ve heard that there’s an investigation going on regarding Gen Faiz Hameed and some allegations of power misuse,” he mentioned.

He mentioned that before looking into the Top City investigation, Gen Faiz needs to be held responsible for the bloodshed of Pashtuns. He claimed that the massacre of Pashtuns kept happening because of his misguided policies.

The ANP leader mentioned that Pashtuns aren’t terrorists; rather, terrorism has been forced upon them. “The past military leaders, along with the United States, transformed Pashtun land into a battlefield.” He claimed it led to the bloodshed of thousands of innocent Pashtuns.

He mentioned that the situation in Mohmand, Bajaur, Waziristan, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Lakki Marwat, and Tank was getting worse again because those experiments were being conducted once more.

He asked who brought foreigners to Afghanistan and who encouraged the Kalashnikov and heroin culture. He mentioned that the federal and provincial governments really haven’t paid any attention to the situation in Kurram, and that’s why things have gotten worse there.

ANP leaders Hussain Shah Yousafzai, Khadija Shah Chitrali, former MPA Nisar Mohmand, Maulana Khanzeb, Syed Masoom Shah Bacha, Iftikhar Mohmand, Meraj Khan, and many party workers were also there at the gathering.
