The northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province is covered in heavy snow, making it colder. Chitral, Kohistan, Bajaur, and Dir saw rain, while higher Chitral and Swat had up to 17 inches of snow in the mountains. Residents already facing harsh winter circumstances are worse hit by this abrupt drop in temperature.
The Meteorological Department expects snow to persist in Swat, Upper and Lower Dir, Shangla, Battagram, and other areas. The coldest places are Parachinar (-4°C), Kalam (-1°C), and Malam Jabba (-2°C). Kalam had the most snow, although Malam Jabba and Chitral also got several inches.
Local authorities advise residents to take measures due to uncertain weather. Snowfall and cold temperatures may restrict vehicle access in some locations, so homeowners should prepare.
In contrast, Punjab is dry and sunny. Lahore, Faisalabad, and Multan will have mild afternoons and milder evenings, while southern Punjab, especially Bahawalpur, will have excessive humidity.
The icy vistas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa delight nature lovers and holidaymakers. For individuals living in these cold conditions, the winter chill tests stamina and preparedness.
