The National Logistics Cell (NLC), in collaboration with the business community, has effectively converted the Sialkot Dry Port in Sambrial into a TIR (Transports Internationaux Routiers) centre, thereby creating new opportunities for international trade.
This initiative will grant exporters direct access to Central Asia and Russia, thereby significantly improving Pakistan’s trade connectivity. NLC’s services enable sealed containers to traverse borders without the need for truck changes or reloading, thereby ensuring expedited and secure shipments. The transit process will encompass comprehensive monitoring and insurance coverage for commercial goods.
Members of the business community have praised the initiative, indicating that it will result in significant decreases in delivery times and expenses. This initiative is expected to enhance the competitive standing of Pakistani exports in regional markets, thereby improving trade efficiency and fostering economic growth.
This transformation represents a significant advancement in promoting international trade and establishing Pakistan as a pivotal logistics center in the region.
