Babar Azam maintains the No. 1 spot in ICC ODI rankings

Babar Azam has once again proven his dominance by retaining the top position in the ICC ODI batting rankings. With 786 rating points, the Pakistan captain continues to outshine his competitors.

Trailing closely behind are India’s rising star Shubman Gill with 781 points and veteran Rohit Sharma at 773. Ireland’s Harry Tector has climbed to an impressive fourth place with 737 points, just ahead of South Africa’s Heinrich Klaasen, who sits at 736.

Virat Kohli, once the undisputed leader in this format, is currently ranked sixth with 728 points, followed by New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell at seventh and West Indies’ Shai Hope sharing the eighth spot with Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz, both at 672. India’s Shreyas Iyer completes the top ten with 669 points.

Despite a slight drop from his career-best 898 points in 2022, Babar’s steady performance ensures his position at the top. With the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 rapidly approaching, the competition for the top spot is expected to intensify as players prepare for intense on-field battles.
