Celebrating 24 years of Strings’ iconic album Duur

The legendary Pakistani band Strings may have disbanded in 2021, but their music continues to live on in the hearts of fans. Marking the 24th anniversary of their iconic album Duur, former band member Faisal Kapadia shared a heartfelt message on Instagram. He reminisced about the unforgettable moments from the making of the album and the joy it brought to fans worldwide. “It feels like just yesterday when we were crafting this album. Thank you for being part of this amazing ride with us!” Kapadia wrote.

Fans flooded the post with nostalgic reactions, calling Duur a timeless masterpiece. Many described how the album shaped their childhood and celebrated it as an eternal legacy of Strings’ music. The album’s title track, Duur, remains etched as one of the most memorable songs in South Asian pop history.

Since going their separate ways, Faisal Kapadia and Bilal Maqsood have embarked on solo journeys. Kapadia has been rocking the stage with his solo album, while Maqsood has ventured into puppeteering, delighting children with his creative project Pakkay Dost. Earlier this year, Maqsood also revisited their early music, sharing a poignant keyboard rendition of the song Main Ne Tujhe from their first Strings album. Fans poured love for the clip, marveling at the timeless beauty of Strings’ music.

Duur not only revived the band after an eight-year hiatus but also served as a cultural landmark, forever tying Strings to the evolution of contemporary South Asian music. Even decades later, the band’s legacy continues to inspire and connect with countless fans globally.
