National Assembly (MNA) member Sher Afzal Marwat has spoken out against his expulsion from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Imran Khan, the founder of the PTI, ordered his removal, which has caused political turbulence both inside and beyond the party.
In a lengthy social media statement, Marwat emphasized his steadfast devotion to PTI and Imran Khan’s leadership while expressing his profound disappointment over his expulsion.
He said the decision seems to have been influenced by those who never welcomed him into the party but assured his followers that he had never been involved in internal factionalism or personal conflicts.
Rather, he consistently supported Imran Khan’s agenda, putting the party’s unity ahead of individual disputes.
Marwat recognized that Imran Khan had to deal with a number of challenges, such as restricted information availability and the existence of some people whose actions were against the party’s objectives.
In spite of this, he was optimistic about the future, stating that the party’s supporters would continue to advocate for justice.
Marwat took a tough stand, saying that he would never plead for mercy, even if he would accept the PTI’s decision with dignity if the party did not change its mind. He made a passionate appeal to PTI leaders and members to stand up to injustice and to stick together, especially during trying times.
Additionally, the expelled member used the occasion to emphasize that mindless obedience is not the same as sincere dedication to the party and its principles.
He said that democracy, openness, and equity should be the party’s guiding principles going forward.
Marwat reiterated his dedication to Imran Khan and the PTI’s mission, claiming that his fight was motivated by a desire to uphold the party’s honor rather than by self-interest.
Imran Khan, the former prime minister and founder of the PTI, gave party leaders instructions yesterday to dismiss Sher Afzal Marwat, a member of the National Assembly (MNA), from the organization.
The decision comes after party members repeatedly complained to Imran Khan about Marwat’s behavior during the Swabi assembly, which caused internal displeasure.
Sher Afzal Marwat received a show-cause notice from PTI last month for breaking party rules.
The fiery-oratory party leader Sher Afzal Marwat was chastised by the PTI leadership in a notice for stating things that went against the party’s official stance.
Marwat was also barred from speaking on behalf of the party in the media until he responded to the show-cause letter. Firdous Shamim Naqvi, the Additional Secretary General of the PTI, issued the show cause notice.
Sher Afzal Marwat has previously broken party rules and made statements without giving them careful thought, according to the notification, which was sent out at the behest of PTI Chairman Imran Khan. There are seven days left for him to respond.
