The 96th Academy Awards, also known as the 2024 Oscars, honored outstanding achievements in the film industry for the year 2023. Among the many deserving winners across 23 categories, “Oppenheimer” emerged as the standout success.
“Oppenheimer” not only clinched the prestigious Best Picture award but also triumphed in several other categories, including Best Director for Christopher Nolan, Actor in a Leading Role for Cillian Murphy, Actor in a Supporting Role for Robert Downey Jr., cinematography, music (Original Score), and Film Editing. These victories mark the first Oscar wins for Nolan, Murphy, and Downey Jr.
Close behind was “Poor Things,” which secured four wins, including actress in a leading role for Emma Stone, as well as awards for Production design, makeup and hairstyling, and costume design. Meanwhile, “The Zone of Interest” stood out as the only other film to win multiple awards, claiming victories in the categories of International Feature Film and Sound.
