Amna Ilyas and Junaid Khan sue producer over “Hum Tum Aur Woo” cinema release

Actors Amna Ilyas and Junaid Khan have taken legal action against Noman Khan, the producer of their telefilm “Hum Tum Aur Woo” (formerly titled “Chira Chiri”), as he decided to release it in cinemas as a feature film.

Both actors expressed their concerns on Instagram and sent a statement to the chairperson of the Pakistan Film Producers Association. The producer, Noman, has not yet responded to the allegations.

Amna and Junaid clarified that they were not involved in promoting the project because it was not intended to be a cinema feature film, and their agreement with Noman was solely for a telefilm.

They claimed that certain technical aspects promised during the project’s pitch were altered when they began filming, but they chose not to make an issue of it at the time.

The actors emphasized that their concern was not about the quality of their work or the dedication of the team, but about maintaining the integrity of the original script and the agreements they made.

Amna and Junaid urged those involved in the distribution process to prevent the movie’s theatrical release, stating it was a breach of trust and contract with the talent.

Legal proceedings have been initiated, and parties found to be in breach of trust may face legal action.

The telefilm, which also features Afshan Khan, Raja Yasir, Saad Khan, and Neni Abbasi, was filmed a year ago, but its theatrical release is scheduled for Eid, with tickets already available for purchase on local cinema websites.
