US court probes India’s security chief Ajit Doval over Khalistani leader murder plot.

A US court has summoned Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, former RAW chief Samant Goel, RAW agent Vikram Yadav, and businessman Nikhil Gupta in connection with a plot to assassinate Sikh leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun.

This high-profile case has drawn international scrutiny due to allegations that the Indian government and its intelligence agency, RAW, were involved in planning the murder.

The conspiracy against Gurpatwant Singh, a prominent advocate for Khalistan and Sikh self-determination, was reportedly uncovered just in time. The Sikh For Justice (SFJ) group has filed a lawsuit in the US, claiming Doval played a significant role in the plot.

Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has provided substantial evidence linking RAW to the conspiracy, noting that his advocacy for Khalistan and the push for a global referendum have made him a target.

The alleged conspiracy seems directed at those who support self-determination and criticize the Modi government’s human rights record. Pannun has vowed to continue his efforts for Khalistan, even if it means facing death.

The Indian government has yet to respond to the court’s summons. In May, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar stated that the investigation would not impact India-US relations. Similarly, US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti assured that the issue would not affect bilateral ties between the two countries.
