Punjab CM extends scholarships and laptops to students from other provinces

  • Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz expands the Honhar Scholarship Programme and laptop scheme to students from all other provinces.
  • Students meeting the 65% merit criterion will receive laptops, and scholarships will ensure free access to quality education.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has extended the Honhar Scholarship Programme and the laptop scheme to include students from across Pakistan’s provinces, including Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The initiative aims to promote equal access to education and technological tools.

Under the revised program, a total of 110,000 laptops will be distributed, with eligibility set at a minimum of 65% marks. Scholarships will also cover college fees for deserving students who meet the merit standards. Maryam Nawaz highlighted the government’s role in investing in youth development, emphasizing that education is the foundation of national progress.

Further, she directed the establishment of a dedicated helpline for scholarship beneficiaries and announced plans for a one-day Vice-Chancellors’ conference and Tech Expo aimed at fostering innovation and collaboration in education.
