Nearly 3,000 schools in Balochistan to reopen

Balochistan Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan has pledged to reopen 2,975 defunct schools in the province as part of a larger effort to enhance education. With the help of Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University (SBK) and teachers hired on a contract basis, the program will be implemented.

He reaffirmed the government’s dedication to education and brought attention to the record allocation of funds for the sector, as well as the execution of Article 25-A, which ensures that all children are guaranteed free and compulsory education.

Officials disclosed the 6,125 instructors discovered to be missing from duty during a high-level briefing, leading to stringent measures. Over 1,100 instructors have received show-cause notices, 372 have been fired, and 267 have been suspended. The number of schools that were previously closed has already increased to 727.

In addition to directing authorities to improve healthcare services, the Chief Secretary also asked them to ensure a consistent supply of drugs in hospitals, going beyond education. In order to maintain peace during demonstrations, he instructed the government to closely monitor the prices of necessities and implement measures to prevent any obstacles.

In order to achieve long-term success, the government of Balochistan will continue to invest in public services, including healthcare, education, and infrastructure, by making the most of all available resources.
