Afghan taliban and Pakistani forces exchange gunfire

A new skirmish erupted on Sunday between Afghan Taliban fighters and Pakistani security forces along the Pak-Afghan border in the Kurram district.

Local officials reported that the clash, which took place near the Zazai Maidan area in Afghanistan’s Khost province, involved the use of “heavy weapons” by both sides. The confrontation started when the Taliban attempted to establish a checkpoint near the border. Both light and heavy weaponry were used during the exchange of fire. While there are no official statements or confirmed reports on casualties or damage, social media videos have depicted intense gunfire in the area, with some reports suggesting casualties on the Afghan side. This incident follows a similar confrontation from the previous week. Clashes between the Afghan Taliban and Pakistani forces along the Durand Line have been frequent in recent years, often leading to casualties on both sides.
