The United States (US) has remained the top export destination for Pakistani goods in the first month of the financial year 2024-25, according to a State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) report.
In July 2024, Pakistan’s exports to the US totaled $476.017 million, marking a 7.26% increase from $443.789 million in July 2023. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the United Kingdom (UK) followed as the second and third largest destinations for Pakistani exports.
Exports to the UAE reached $216.918 million in July 2024, up 7.74% from $201.319 million the previous year. The UK imported $183.303 million worth of Pakistani goods, a notable increase from $151.554 million in July 2023.
China, another significant market, saw exports of $160.100 million, a 4.13% rise from the prior year. Germany imported $135.463 million of Pakistani products, a slight increase from $131.079 million in July 2023. Exports to Holland were $124.547 million, and exports to Italy totaled $96.024 million. Spanish exports decreased slightly to $106.706 million from $115.691 million the previous year.
Pakistani exports to Afghanistan surged to $88.065 million, up from $46.262 million in July 2023. Exports to Bangladesh decreased slightly to $57.866 million from $60.772 million last year.
France and Belgium also saw significant trade, with exports of $41.862 million and $59.674 million, respectively. Exports to Saudi Arabia reached $57.445 million, while Turkish exports increased to $33.766 million from $24.126 million the previous year.
The report underscores the continued significance of traditional export markets for Pakistan while highlighting potential growth opportunities in emerging markets.
