Light rain causes traffic chaos in parts of Karachi

Light rain on Monday morning has disrupted traffic flow in various parts of Karachi, prompting the traffic police to issue precautionary measures for commuters.

The Karachi Traffic Police advised drivers and motorcyclists to reduce their speed, as the light drizzle has made the roads slippery, according to a statement posted on X.

The statement also recommended avoiding sudden braking and advised motorcyclists to use the left side of the road while commuting.

Both sides of the road between Fawara Chowk and Thana Street have been closed to traffic. An alternative route directs traffic from Fawara Chowk to Zainab Market and Deen Muhammad Wafai Road, while traffic from Thana Street is being diverted to M.R. Kiyani Chowrangi.

As of a statement on X posted at 9:40 a.m., traffic from Hasan Square is being diverted to University Road via Hasan Bridge due to road depressions caused by work from the Karachi Sewage and Water Board (KWSB).

Additionally, due to overflowing sewage in front of Rado Bakery in Gulistan-e-Johar, traffic on one side has been diverted to a one-way road from Awami Colony to Rado Bakery.
