In Pakistan, 90% of lung cancer cases are directly attributed to tobacco, resulting in the deaths of 100,000 individuals annually. A study conducted by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) in 2018-19 revealed alarming statistics: the country has over 23.9 million tobacco users, with 125,000 fatalities each year due to tobacco-related diseases. Despite these figures, tobacco usage continues to rise steadily, with a concerning trend among children.
