FIA initiates crackdown on fake degree issuers in twin cities

The anti-corruption circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has launched a crackdown on individuals involved in issuing counterfeit and unregistered technical education degrees, resulting in the arrest of three owners of illegal institutions in the twin cities.

According to an FIA spokesperson, the crackdown targeted suspects responsible for distributing fake and unregistered technical degrees. Raids were conducted on identified fake and unregistered institutions, including the Modern Institute of Informatics, Johar Institute of Information Technology Islamabad, and the International College of Education, leading to the arrest of their respective owners, Zeeshan Zahid, Umar Farooq, and Ahsanuddin.

The arrested individuals, apprehended in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, were found to have placed admission advertisements in various newspapers and social media platforms under the guise of fake institutions, issuing counterfeit technical certificates, degrees, and cards to citizens for significant sums of money. The crackdown was initiated following a complaint from the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), the spokesperson stated.

During the raids, a substantial quantity of fake technical degrees, certificates, cards, diplomas, and equipment used for producing counterfeit documents were seized by the FIA. Additionally, fake seals, diploma stickers, blank certificates, letterheads, and an embossing machine were recovered from the possession of the accused.

The spokesperson noted that efforts are underway to apprehend other suspects involved in the illicit activities. The director of Islamabad Zone commended the team for their outstanding performance, reaffirming the commitment to continue the relentless pursuit of fake and illegal institutions.
