Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has instructed authorities to ensure a continuous gas supply to domestic consumers throughout the winter season without any interruptions.
The directive was issued during a review meeting on the country’s gas supply situation in Islamabad today.
Responding to complaints about reduced gas supply to households, the Prime Minister called for reforms in the supply system to address the issue permanently. He reaffirmed that ensuring gas availability for domestic consumers is a top government priority.
During the meeting, it was reported that surplus RLNG is currently available in the system, improving gas load management compared to last year. It was also noted that gas load-shedding has been reduced this year, with domestic consumers receiving gas daily from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
The meeting further revealed that gas is being provided to the power sector as per its demand. Additionally, SNGPL and SSGC have implemented online dashboards to manage consumer complaints, achieving a complaint resolution rate of 93% for SNGPL and 79% for SSGC. All gas fields across the country are fully operational.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Minister for Petroleum Dr. Musadik Malik, Prime Minister’s Coordinator Rana Ehsan Afzal, and other senior officials.
