Russian President Vladimir Putin wins the Presidential election. President Putin is in power since 1999. He secured 88% Votes in the elections. The turn out was 74% which was higher then 2018 elections. With this victory, Putin will rule Russia till 2030. He will become the longest Serving ruler of Russia. Soviet Leader Josef Stalin is the longest serving Leader in the modern history of Russia.
His opponent from the Communist Party, Nikolay Kharitonov, is expected to come in second with 4.7%, followed by Vladislav Davankov of the New People party (3.6%) and Leonid Slutsky of the Liberal Democrats (2.5%).
As per media reports, voting took place across the country’s 11 time zones – from the far eastern regions near Alaska to the western exclave of Kaliningrad on the Baltic Coast – and its 88 federal subjects, including parts of Ukraine annexed by Russia. First time people also used internet to cast their ballots from different 26 places.
The American administration has rejected the elections results and declared it un transparent and unfair.
