KP CM Gandapur seeks transit bail from PHC

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has approached the Peshawar High Court (PHC) for transit bail regarding cases filed against him in Islamabad.

In his plea, CM Gandapur expressed his intention to appear before the court but noted that he might be arrested before he has the chance to do so. He requested the court to schedule a hearing for his plea today and grant him transit bail to facilitate his appearance.

Previously, an Anti-Terrorism Court in Islamabad issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Gandapur in connection with a case registered at Police Station I-9 under terrorism charges. The court rejected his application for pre-arrest bail and instructed him to appear in court.

Gandapur’s lawyer, Raja Zuhor Hasan, sought an exemption from his client’s appearance, but the court denied the request. The prosecutor argued that Gandapur had repeatedly violated the law, prompting the court to take notice of his behavior.
