Zurich is set to host the two-day season finale of the 2025 Diamond League in August, while the competition will kick off with two events in China, according to the organizers’ announcement on Wednesday.
The provisional schedule for the 16th edition of this premier one-day meeting series in track and field includes 15 host cities across 14 countries and four continents.
The opening event will take place in Xiamen on April 26, followed by the Shanghai/Suzhou meeting a week later. Events in Doha and Rabat are scheduled for May, leading up to the first European meet in Rome in June.
Following competitions in Oslo, Stockholm, and Paris, the series will move to the United States for the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon, scheduled for July.
Meetings will then be held in Monaco, London, Silesia, Lausanne, and Brussels throughout July and August, culminating in the final event in Zurich from August 27-28. This will be the first time Zurich has hosted the finale since 2022, just ahead of the World Athletics Championships, which will take place in Tokyo from September 13-21.
The 2025 Diamond League is set to award over $9 million in prize money, marking a new record for the tournament.
