In an exclusive interview, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, Donald Lu, expressed confidence in Pakistan’s economic recovery, commending the country’s progress and the tough reforms being implemented by the government.
“We are encouraged by Pakistan’s economic recovery,” Lu said, following a recent meeting with Finance Minister Aurangzeb. The discussion focused on Pakistan’s plans and reforms to stabilize its financial outlook.
“These reforms are challenging but essential for Pakistan’s future,” Lu added, noting that their successful execution would have widespread benefits, particularly for the country’s youth.
Lu also spoke about U.S.-Pakistan security cooperation, reaffirming U.S. support in counter-terrorism efforts. “We stand by Pakistan’s military and government in their fight against terrorism,” he said, highlighting the ongoing collaboration between the two nations.
