Lahore is set to experience hot weather today, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasting temperatures between a low of 27°C and a high of 38°C. Currently, the temperature in the city stands at 29°C.
Humidity in Lahore has soared to 77%, with wind speeds at 8 km/h. Additionally, Lahore has been ranked as the second most polluted city in the world, with an average smog level of 179, as reported by the Meteorological Department.
The PMD has indicated that most regions across Pakistan will face hot and humid conditions over the next 24 hours. However, rain, wind, and thunderstorms are expected in some isolated areas of Kashmir and its surroundings later tonight. This weather pattern is primarily due to continental air dominating much of the country.
On Tuesday, the highest temperatures in the nation were recorded in Bhakkar and Nokkundi, reaching up to 43°C. Hot and humid weather is likely to continue for the foreseeable future.
