The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has issued a reminder to the public to avoid making unnecessary photocopies of important documents.
A spokesperson for Nadra stated that citizens do not need to provide photocopies of documents like National Identity Cards (NICs), Family Registration Certificates (FRCs), or any other documents issued by the authority. Instead, they should bring the original documents or simply the Nadra-issued number printed on them when visiting Nadra offices.
The advisory also highlighted the security risks associated with making unnecessary photocopies, as these could be misused by unauthorized individuals. Nadra encourages citizens to file any complaints through their official website at https://complaints.nadra.gov.pk.
Nadra was originally established as the National Database Organization (NDO) under the Ministry of Interior in 1998 and later merged with the Directorate General of Registration (DGR) on March 10, 2000, becoming the independent corporate body it is today. It has gained international recognition for its role in identity management, e-governance, and secure document solutions, helping to reduce identity theft and protect the interests of both clients and the public.
