The federal government plans to introduce the Practice and Procedure Amendment Ordinance.
Sources indicate that this ordinance will enhance the Chief Justice’s authority in appointing cases. If a committee member is unavailable, the Chief Justice will have the power to nominate a judge to serve on the committee.
The Practice and Procedure Act establishes a three-member committee that forms the benches. According to sources, the Ministry of Law has drafted the ordinance and submitted it to the cabinet for approval.
