Pakistan experiences partial lunar eclipse

On Wednesday morning, Pakistan witnessed a partial lunar eclipse.

The eclipse began at 5:41 AM (Pakistan Standard Time), offering viewers across the country the opportunity to see this captivating celestial phenomenon. It reached its peak at 7:44 AM and ended at 9:47 AM.

This partial lunar eclipse was visible not only in Pakistan but also in various regions around the world, including the Americas, Europe, Australia, Africa, and parts of North and Eastern Asia.

Global media reports indicated that the eclipse featured the full “harvest moon” moving through Earth’s shadow. This shadow caused part of the moon’s surface to darken, creating the effect of a portion being “bitten” out.

Lunar eclipses occur when the Earth is positioned between the Sun and the Moon, casting a shadow on the Moon’s surface. They are a rare sight, as they only happen during a full moon. The partial eclipse ends when the Moon moves out of Earth’s umbra and back into the penumbra, concluding the event.
