On Sunday, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), the main opposition party, experienced one of its busiest days since the February 8 elections as it exerted “all possible efforts” to prevent the government from introducing a controversial constitutional amendment.
The party’s activities began early in the day and reached a peak with Barrister Gohar Ali Khan joining a special committee meeting led by PPP’s Syed Khursheed Shah at the National Assembly late that night.
Earlier, PTI concentrated on persuading Maulana Fazlur Rehman, with several key leaders meeting the JUI-F chief for over an hour. Channels also broadcast footage of PTI leaders praying alongside the JUI-F chief.
