Mohammad Abbas achieves 700 first-class wickets milestone in County Championship

Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Abbas has reached the significant milestone of 700 first-class wickets.

Abbas achieved this landmark during a County Championship match, claiming Kent’s Jack Leaning as his 700th victim.

At 34, Abbas becomes the 14th Pakistani cricketer to accomplish this feat. Known for his pinpoint accuracy, the right-arm pacer has also made his mark in international Test cricket, taking 90 wickets in 25 matches.

His record boasts impressive performances, including 21 wickets in five matches against the West Indies, 17 wickets in three matches against Australia with best figures of 10/95, and 15 wickets in five matches against England.

Abbas last represented Pakistan in a Test match against the West Indies in 2021. Despite delivering key performances in County and domestic cricket since then, he has yet to make a return to the national team.
