Met office forecasts hot, dry conditions across most of the Country

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts hot and dry weather across most of the country over the next 24 hours. However, isolated instances of rain, windstorms, and thundershowers are anticipated in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, the Pothohar region, northeast Punjab, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The PMD has also issued a warning for possible heavy downpours and hailstorms in isolated areas of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the evening or nighttime.

Continental air is currently dominant, maintaining the hot and dry conditions. Nonetheless, a shallow westerly wave is expected to approach the upper and western regions tonight, which could impact weather patterns in these areas.

In the past 24 hours, most of the country experienced persistent hot and dry weather, with Gujranwala being the only location to receive a light rainfall of 1 mm. Turbat recorded the highest temperature on Friday, reaching 43°C.
