Dar reaffirms Pakistan’s commitment to environmental protection at Maritime conference

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to environmental sustainability, stressing the country’s susceptibility to climate change. Addressing the International Maritime Business and Finance Conference in Islamabad on Thursday, Dar detailed Pakistan’s initiatives to modernize its maritime sector.

Dar highlighted progress in the fisheries and shipbreaking industries, particularly the integration of advanced technology and sustainable practices. He also pointed out the significant investment opportunities within Pakistan’s port sector, noting that several terminals are currently managed by international operators.

Emphasizing the government’s vision, Dar discussed plans to transform Pakistan’s ports into key hubs for regional and international trade, offering promising prospects for both local and foreign investors.
