Amit Shah declares article 370 irrelevant, rules out talks with Pakistan

During a two-day visit to Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Union Home Minister Amit Shah firmly ruled out the restoration of Article 370, labeling it “history” that will not return. He criticised opposition parties like the National Conference and Congress for advocating its reinstatement, asserting that Article 370 brought violence and turmoil to the region.

Amit Shah also addressed India’s stance on Pakistan, reiterating that dialogue with Pakistan will not resume until cross-border terrorism ceases. “Talks and bombs cannot go together,” he said, focusing instead on engaging with Kashmir’s youth to promote peace and development.

Shah praised the abrogation of Article 370 for bringing peace and economic growth to IIOJK, highlighting a sharp reduction in terror-related incidents and a boost in tourism. He also criticized previous governments for appeasing separatist groups and emphasized that the region has seen a significant decline in violence since 2019.

In his address, Shah urged the people of IIOJK to support the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming Assembly elections, framing the period from 2014 to 2024 as a transformative era for the region. He concluded by stressing that the BJP’s focus on development and security will continue under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

Amit Shah ruled out restoring Article 370 in IIOJK, emphasizing peace and development post-abrogation. He dismissed talks with Pakistan until terrorism ends and urged voters to support the BJP’s development agenda in the upcoming elections.
