Venue for PTI rally in capital changed

The Islamabad administration has announced a new venue for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally scheduled for September 8, due to security concerns.

Originally set to take place in the Tarnol area, the rally will now be held at an open space at the intersection of New Margalla Road, Iran Avenue, and GT Road, Sangjani. A notification from the district magistrate’s office confirmed the change, stating: “In reference to office letter No. 10(3)-HC(G)/2024 dated 05-09-2024, permission is granted for a public gathering/jalsa on September 8, 2024, at the new location 200 meters from the previously notified site, as shown on Google Maps. The routes and terms and conditions previously notified remain unchanged.”

The venue change is attributed to security concerns, particularly threats from terrorist groups. Law enforcement agencies are on high alert, with Islamabad police directed to implement all necessary security measures to prevent any potential violence.
