Punjab launches anti-smog campaign to tackle air pollution

The Anti-Smog Unit of the Punjab Planning and Development Board, in collaboration with the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore and the Environment Department, has launched a public awareness campaign to combat smog.

A significant event was held on Multan Road at Chauburji, where CTO Lahore Ammara Athar and Director General of the Environment Department Imran Hamid participated. They informed citizens about preventive measures to reduce smog and distributed informational pamphlets to vehicle owners, encouraging them to address vehicle emissions.

CTO Ammara Athar, speaking to the media, stressed the need for collective action to combat smog. She urged the public to maintain their vehicles through timely repairs and tune-ups to minimize harmful emissions and curb air pollution. “It is everyone’s responsibility to contribute to controlling smog permanently,” she stated.
