Just six months following the release of his debut album “Layover,” BTS’ V is set to make a comeback with a new single titled “FRI(END)S.”
Teased previously on social media by V and Big Hit Music, the digital single was officially announced on Sunday, unveiling its title and the release date of March 15.
According to Big Hit, “FRI(END)S” falls into the Pop Soul R&B genre, offering relatable and witty romance through lyrics composed entirely in English.
In September 2023, V dropped his debut album “Layover,” which featured hit singles like “Love Me Again,” “Rainy Days,” and “Slow Dancing.” However, shortly after its release, V and his BTS bandmates Jungkook, Jimin, and RM began their mandatory military enlistment in South Korea, placing the K-pop group on hiatus until 2025.
Before commencing his military service, V hinted at having prepared some surprises to keep fans entertained during his absence. “Over the past 18 months, I’ve prepared a lot of things. Please look forward to it,” V expressed in December 2023. “I’ll miss you all dearly. I love you immensely.”
