Pakistan has brought back spinner Abrar Ahmed for the last Test against Bangladesh

Pakistan has recalled leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed for the second and final Test against Bangladesh, following their unsuccessful strategy of fielding an all-pace attack on a slow pitch in the first Test in Rawalpindi last week.

Pakistan suffered their first-ever Test defeat against Bangladesh on Sunday after opting for a pace-only attack, which struggled on the slow surface. Meanwhile, Bangladeshi spinners Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz took advantage of the conditions, claiming seven wickets and leading their team to a historic 10-wicket victory.

Abrar, who has taken 38 wickets in six Tests, has been brought back into the squad alongside uncapped spin-bowling all-rounder Kamran Ghulam. All-rounder Aamer Jamal has also been recalled, but his participation will depend on a fitness assessment, according to a statement from the PCB.

The final Test, also in Rawalpindi, is set to begin on Friday.
