Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited Balochistan after the violence, vowing support for the Chief Minister.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited Balochistan on Tuesday, expressing his support for Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti’s counterterrorism efforts following a wave of violence that resulted in at least 50 deaths, including 14 security personnel. The attacks were carried out by militants from the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), who targeted security forces and civilians, particularly those from Punjab.

During his visit to Quetta, Naqvi assured that the federal government would fully support Bugti’s decisions. The violence included attacks on police stations, railway tracks, and vehicles, and resulted in numerous casualties and disruptions.

Naqvi noted that the federal leadership, including President, Prime Minister, and Army Chief, is committed to addressing the situation. He also mentioned that while the federal cabinet meeting was scheduled, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed him to visit Balochistan instead.

The interior minister promised continued support from the federal government and emphasized that decisive actions would be taken against the terrorists. He criticized the attackers for their cowardice and indicated that the government is preparing an action plan for discussions with Balochistan’s political leadership.

In a separate statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif urged the nation to confront terrorism decisively, stressing that there is no room for weakness. He condemned the attacks and called for unity in tackling the threat.
