State-run Radio Pakistan reported on Monday that twelve terrorists have been neutralized and many others injured as security forces responded to multiple attacks across Balochistan.
The report described the attacks as “cowardly” but did not specify their locations. It noted that security forces and law enforcement agencies have effectively countered these attacks and will continue operations until all terrorists are eliminated.
The attacks followed assaults on Levies and police stations in Mastung, Kalat, Pasni, and Suntsar late Sunday night. Reports also mentioned blasts and grenade attacks in Sibi, Panjgur, Mastung, Turbat, Bela, and Quetta. Additionally, armed men destroyed a railway track connecting Pakistan with Iran at Mastung’s bypass area.
The banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for these attacks. In Pasni, attackers targeted the police station, beat personnel, and set fire to three vehicles and motorcycles. Another police station in Suntsar, a coastal town of Gwadar, was ransacked, and official weapons were stolen.
In Kalat, armed men clashed with law enforcement, resulting in the deaths of 11 people and injuries to six others. According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Dostain Dashti, the deceased include four Levies personnel, one police sub-inspector, a tribal elder, and two civilians. Injured individuals include five Levies personnel and Kalat Assistant Commissioner Aftab Lasi.
The bodies and injured have been transported to Civil Hospital Kalat. The attacks also targeted a hotel and the home of a tribal leader in Mehlabi area of Kalat, resulting in the death of Malik Zubair Mohammad Hosni. The Quetta-Karachi highway has been closed due to the clashes, and hospitals have been placed on emergency alert.
