Pakistani fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi and his wife Ansha have welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Ali Yar, on Saturday. The couple’s joy comes as Shaheen is currently engaged in the two-Test series against Bangladesh.
The cricketer has been receiving warm congratulations from teammates and fans on social media. Ansha’s father, former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi, has become a grandfather with the birth of his granddaughter.
Shaheen, 24, is set to leave Rawalpindi for Karachi on Sunday night to be with his wife after the first Test concludes. He will rejoin his team before the second Test begins on August 30.
Shaheen and Ansha married in February 2023 with a nikkah ceremony in Karachi, followed by a wedding celebration in September 2023 and a Valima reception in Islamabad. Their wedding was attended by several cricketing stars, including Babar Azam, Shadab Khan, Imam-ul-Haq, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, Fakhar Zaman, and Mohammad Rizwan.
