Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to address the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on September 26, according to a provisional speakers’ list released by the UN.
The high-level debate, part of the 79th session of the UNGA, will occur from September 24 to 30. This will mark PM Sharif’s second appearance at the General Assembly, following his address in 2022.
The upcoming session will see participation from over 130 world leaders and will focus on global peace and security amid escalating international tensions, including conflicts in Palestine, Ukraine, and Sudan.
The 79th session of the Assembly is set to officially begin on September 10, with many notable leaders anticipated to address pressing global issues. The provisional list of speakers may be updated frequently as the UN adjusts attendance, schedules, and speaking slots for leaders, ministers, and ambassadors.
