According to Filmfare, Sajal Aly is set to star opposite Indian superstar Prabhas in the upcoming film Fauji. The period drama is scheduled to begin shooting on August 24 in Hyderabad, as reported by Indian media.
An official announcement for the female lead is anticipated soon, with names like Mrunal Thakur also being speculated for the role.
This news comes shortly after Fawad Khan’s return to Indian cinema was announced.
There has been considerable speculation about Aly’s involvement in Fauji. Indian sources close to the project have confirmed her participation. The film, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, is reported to be set in the pre-independence era and promises to be an action-packed drama.
Filmfare reports that Aly will take on the lead role alongside Prabhas, who recently gained acclaim for his global hit Kalki 2898 AD.
Aly made a notable Bollywood debut with the 2017 film Mom, starring alongside the late Sridevi. Neither Aly nor the makers of Fauji have yet confirmed or denied these reports.
