Farhat Abbas steps down as PTI’s parliamentary leader in punjab assembly

Hafiz Farhat Abbas, the parliamentary leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the Punjab Assembly, has resigned from his position.

In a statement on X, Abbas disclosed that his bail in connection with the May 9-related cases had been denied. As a result, he felt unable to effectively fulfill his responsibilities as parliamentary leader.

He has submitted his resignation to the party and requested that PTI Chairman Imran Khan accept it.

Although stepping down from his leadership role, Abbas reaffirmed his loyalty to Imran Khan and his commitment to continuing as a Punjab Assembly member and dedicated party worker.
