PTI backed Babar Saleem Swati has been elected as speaker KP assembly. He secured 89 votes while his opponent Ihsan Ullah Khan of PPP gained 17 votes. Babar Saleem Swati sworn in as speaker immediately after his election. Meanwhile, Kausar Bibi of PTI has been elected deputy speaker KP assembly. She secured 87 votes while his opponent Arbab Waseem of PTI P could only manage to secure 17 votes. The largest opposition party in KP assembly did not participated in the election of speaker and deputy speaker.
