Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz responded to PTI founder Imran Khan’s statement, in which he offered a conditional apology for the events of May 9.
Taking to X, Maryam Nawaz stated that an apology is appropriate for a mistake, but a crime deserves punishment.
“When you launch an attack on your own country, it is terrorism, not a mistake,” she said.
It’s worth noting that earlier today, Imran Khan announced a conditional apology for the May 9 riots. Speaking to the media in Adiala Jail on Wednesday, he called for the CCTV footage of May 9 to be made public to identify the real culprits behind the violence.
He added, “If PTI members are found to have been involved in the May 9 events, I will apologize, expel them from the party, and ensure they are punished.”
