Pakistan unveils 17-member squad for Bangladesh test series

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed a 17-member squad for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh.

This series will be the debut Test campaign for Jason Gillespie, who is Pakistan’s head coach for the red-ball format, with Azhar Mahmood assisting him.

The training camp for the Pakistan Test squad is scheduled to start on August 11 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. This camp will prepare the team for the two-match Test series against Bangladesh. The first Test will be held from August 21 to 25 in Rawalpindi, followed by the second Test from August 30 to September 3 in Karachi.

The Bangladesh Test team is set to arrive in Islamabad on the morning of August 17 and is expected to begin training later that day.

Saud Shakeel has been appointed as the vice-captain of the national team and will also captain Pakistan Shaheens in their first four-day match against Bangladesh A.

Kamran Ghulam, Mohammad Ali, and Mohammad Huraira have been added to the squad to infuse new talent.

The 17-member Test squad includes Shan Masood as captain, Saud Shakeel as vice-captain, Amir Jamal (pending fitness), Abdullah Shafique, Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Kamran Ghulam, Khurram Shehzad, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Huraira, Mohammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper), Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Sarfaraz Ahmed (wicketkeeper), and Shaheen Shah Afridi.The Pakistan Shaheens squad set to face Bangladesh A features Saud Shakeel as captain, with Kamran Ghulam, Mehran Mumtaz, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Rameez Junior, Mohammad Huraira, Naseem Shah, Saad Baig as wicketkeeper, Saad Khan, Saim Ayub, Sameen Gul, Sarfaraz Ahmed (wicketkeeper), and Umar Amin.
