The White House stated on Tuesday that the US does not believe Iran or Hezbollah has yet initiated any strikes against Israel.
Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre informed reporters that while there is no indication that a response has begun, there are concerns about the rising violence, including Hezbollah’s drone attacks on Israel.
Jean-Pierre emphasized that the US is actively engaged in efforts to de-escalate the situation in the region. She noted that President Joe Biden remains focused on reducing tensions in the Middle East.
“The President has been very clear about his commitment to de-escalating tensions,” Jean-Pierre said. “Our priority is to continue working towards this goal, and the President is actively engaging with our partners to achieve it.”
