Jimin’s latest single, “Who,” has propelled him to a new career milestone by surpassing his BTS bandmate Jung Kook’s record on the Digital Song Sales chart.
The track has seen significant global success, largely due to impressive first-week sales across various countries. “Who” debuts at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart this week. According to Luminate, the single has led Billboard’s rankings of the top-selling individual songs in the United States, selling 52,000 copies.
This achievement marks Jimin’s sixth No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart as a solo artist, excluding his numerous hits with BTS. With this new chart-topping single, Jimin breaks his tie with Jung Kook for the most No. 1s by a South Korean solo artist on this chart, moving ahead with six.
Jimin first reached No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart in 2022 with “With You,” a collaboration with Ha Sung Woon, which topped the chart for one week in May. In 2023, he dominated the sales rankings with three consecutive No. 1 hits. “Set Me Free, Pt. 2” and “Like Crazy” both reached the top spot, with Jimin replacing himself at No. 1. A month later, he returned to the top position as a featured artist on “Angel, Pt. 1” with Kodak Black, NLE Choppa, JVKE, and Muni Long.
“Who” becomes Jimin’s second No. 1 of 2024 on the Digital Song Sales chart, following “Closer Than This,” which also topped the chart earlier this year.
Jung Kook’s record on the Digital Song Sales chart, which includes both solo and collaborative hits, mirrors Jimin’s achievements. Jung Kook began his streak in 2022 and added several No. 1s in 2023, but has not yet secured a No. 1 in 2024.
