Polio eradication becomes a top priority in Balochistan

Senator Ayesha Raza Farooq, the Prime Minister’s Focal Person on Polio Eradication, voiced concern over the recently reported polio cases in Balochistan. She reaffirmed her commitment to launching a special anti-polio campaign in the province over the next three months, aiming to vaccinate all children under the age of five to protect them from paralytic polio.

The special anti-polio drive, prompted by two recent polio cases, is scheduled to take place in September, October, and November across the province.

Senator Ayesha Raza Farooq met with Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti at the CM Secretariat, with Quetta Division Commissioner Hamza Shafqaat and Emergency Operation Centre Coordinator Inam Khan Mandokhail also in attendance. The meeting focused on preventing polio in the province, the success of previous anti-polio campaigns in Balochistan, and other related issues.
