His sentences in two Toshakhana cases were suspended, and he was acquitted in the cipher case by the Islamabad High Court (IHC). Despite these legal developments, Khan and his spouse were re-arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in a new Toshakhana case shortly after their acquittal in the Iddat case, keeping his release uncertain.
