Following torrential rains, Lahore, the capital city of Punjab, experienced severe flooding in multiple areas, with streets resembling rivers.
The heavy rainfall led to the tripping of over 177 feeders operated by Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), resulting in widespread power outages throughout the city.
Tajpura recorded the highest rainfall at 242 millimeters, with significant amounts also reported in other areas: Lakshmi Chowk (130 mm), Mughalpura (132 mm), Gulshan-e-Ravi (133 mm), Chauk Nakhuda (122 mm), Iqbal Town (128 mm), Qartaba Chowk (125 mm), Samanabad (135 mm), and Airport (71 mm).
Power supply disruptions affected 120 feeders in Lahore, along with additional disruptions in the Kasur and Nankana circles. Sheikhupura and Okara circles also reported interruptions.
Local authorities have mobilized emergency drainage operations, deploying machinery and personnel to manage water accumulation in affected areas.
