Satiana: Book publisher found dead

A book publisher who had gone missing from Nishter Colony in Lahore was found dead in Faisalabad.

His body was discovered in the Gogera branch near Jaranwala on Thursday. According to a Rescue 1122 spokesperson, a team was dispatched to the site near Canal Bridge in Satiana upon receiving information about the corpse, and they retrieved the body.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Rehman Irfan, 65, from Chak 39GB in Satiana.

Following a post-mortem at the Jaranwala Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, the body was handed over to his family.

The police have collected forensic evidence and initiated an investigation.

Jaranwala SP Abid Zafar stated that Abdul Rehman, a resident of Lahore, had been missing since Wednesday. An FIR for his abduction had been registered at a police station in Lahore. The cause of death will be determined based on the post-mortem report.

Initial police investigations indicated that Abdul Rehman’s location before his death had been recorded in Lahore, Gojra, Khurrianwala, Faisalabad, and Satiana. The SP mentioned that the police are employing scientific methods to investigate the incident.
